What to expect
In your initial consultation we will discuss your specific needs and any goals you may have. We will do a brief physical assessment and then get moving!
At the heart of Pilates is our connection to the breath and its associated structures. We use the spring-loaded resistance of the Pilates reformer, tower or exercise chair to create appropriate support or challenge in a movement setup. Within each session you’ll experience a diverse range of movement qualities – from deep relaxation and centring to energizing, whole –body challenge.
The benefits of Pilates are multifaceted; from improved strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and general physical adaptability to enhanced proprioception (body awareness) and interoception (your inner sense). Pilates fosters individual agency with this conscious connection of the body and mind.
People attend sessions for many different reasons—whether it’s working toward specific physical rehab goals, or in the broader context of assisting with stress and anxiety management. You could also simply be taking an hour each week that is truly your own.
